Workers Compensation Benefits
We are the most experienced group of medical professionals in the region when it comes to getting federal employees’ injuries healed and workers compensation benefits claims approved.
Whatever type of injury is affecting your ability to work—whether the injury is to your back, neck, foot, knees, wrists, ankles, shoulders or hands—our experienced healthcare providers offer the most advanced treatments to help you recover and get back to feeling like you again.
Our consultants offer free assistance with your claim preparation so that you don’t need to do it on your own.
If you’re a federal employee, you’re likely already aware that if you suffer a work-related injury or illness, you won’t be covered by your state’s workers’ compensation program. Instead, federal workers, whether part-time or full-time, are covered by FECA, the Federal Employees’ Compensation Act.
FECA benefits are available to all union members of the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) as well as all civilian federal workers at agencies including:
- Veterans Affairs (VA)
- Homeland Security (DHS)
- Social Security Administration (SSA)
- Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP)
- Customs and Border Protection Agency (CBP)
- Department of Defense (DOD)
- Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)
- Transportation Security Administration (TSA)
- Internal Revenue Service (IRS)
- United States Postal Service (USPS)
Other groups covered by FECA include federal jurors, students in the Reserve Officer Training Corps, and volunteers in some organizations; for example, the Peace Corps. If you are unsure whether or not FECA covers you, our claims experts can tell you.
FECA—a program that is now over a century old—falls under the jurisdiction of the Department of Labor (DOL) and is managed by the Office of Workers’ Compensation Programs (OWCP). The DOL OWCP claims process can be somewhat complex, and if you’re not familiar with their specific requirements, your claim could be delayed or even denied. We specialize in FECA claims, getting you the benefits you deserve and the treatment you need.
Your recovery is our top priority. That is what we want you concentrating on, rather than worrying about whether or not your claim will be approved.
Federal Workers’ Injury Benefits
All of your medical costs will be covered by FECA benefits, including medication, medical devices, therapy, and transportation to and from treatment. You will not be required to use personal insurance for any costs covered by FECA.
Basic disability benefits cover three-quarters of your pre-disability wage if you have any dependents and two-thirds if you do not. Your FECA benefits remain in effect throughout your disability, even if you are never able to return to work. FECA pays a cash benefit to your survivors if you succumb to your injury.
The OWCP does not list specific conditions or injuries that are covered or not covered under FECA. Their officers review each claim and make their decisions based on the evidence provided. We are an OWCP-authorized medical service provider, and our consultants know how to get your claim approved.
